Installing Homebrew Channel and Bootmii

  • Remove any memory card (SD or otherwise) and all Gamecube controllers
  • Create the hack SD card from the /flc/wii/hack/wiihack.tar.gz file or from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?mymmzwkmllw <--Password = www.wiihacks.com

NOTE: SD card needs to be formated as FAT16 or FAT32

  • Insert the SD card into the Wii and then click on the SD card icon in the main menu. Select "Yes" when the pop up saying Load boot.dol/elf? appears.
  • The Hackmii Installer will now run. Make sure to install Homebrew Channel, DVDX, and Bootmii as an IOS and/or boot2.

NOTE: Always install Bootmii as boot2 if possible

Restoring The Bug Into IOS36

  • Load and Homebrew Channel and run Dop-IOS MOD, on the splash screen, press A to continue
  • Select "Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning" and press A
  • On "Select which IOS to load", choose IOS36 and press A
  • Select "Downgrade IOS15" and press A
  • Select "Download IOS from NUS" and press A (2 times)
  • At the "We are now returning you to your loader..." screen press A

NOTE: Make sure you get no errors. If Loading IOS36 doesn't work for this step, press B for no IOS reload when asked to load IOS.

  • Load Dop-IOS MOD again, on the splash screen, press A to continue
  • Select "Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning" and press A
  • On "Select which IOS to load", choose IOS15 and press A
  • Select "IOS36 menu" and press A
  • Install the patched IOS36 with all these patches selected:
    • Install IOS to slot: 36
    • Patch hash check (trucha): yes
    • Patch ES_Identify: yes
    • Patch nand permissions: yes <--change to yes (right arrow)!
    • Select "Install patched IOS36" and press A to install
  • Again, everytime it asks, choose 'Download from NUS' (1 time)
  • At the "We are now returning you to your loader..." screen press A
  • Load Dop-IOS MOD again, on the splash screen, press A to continue
  • Select "Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning" and press A
  • Press B to "...continue without IOS Reload"
  • Select "Restore IOS15" and press A
  • Each time it asks, select 'Download from NUS' (1 time)
  • At the "We are now returning you to your loader..." screen press A

Delete The Stubbed IOS

  • In the Homebrew Channel, select "AnyTitle Deleter DB"
    • If you get any errors just press A (2 times) (I had error ES_Identify -1017 & ES_OpenContent -1017, and then I had some "region" error)
  • Press down on the d-pad to continue
  • Select "00000001 - System Titles" and press A to continue
  • Select IOS222 and press A three times to delete. Do the same for IOS223, IOS249 and IOS250
  • Once done deleting, press B and then home

Installing cIOS249-rev14

  • In the Homebrew Channel, select "cIOS38r14 Installer"
  • Select IOS36 and press A
  • Press A again to agree to the disclaimer
  • Press right on the d-pad to select "Network Installation" and press A
  • Once done, press any button to restart

Install and Patch A Few More IOS

  • In the Homebrew Channel, select "Dop-IOS MOD", on the splash screen, press A to continue
  • Select "IOS: 36" and press A
  • Select A at "IOS successfully loaded"
  • Select "IOSs" and press A
  • Press right on d-pad until you get to "IOS53" and press A
  • Press A (yes) at the "Are you sure you want to install..."
  • Press A (yes) at the "Apply Sig Hash Check patch in IOS53?" (Trunca bug)
  • Press right on d-pad until you get to "IOS55" and press A
  • Press A (yes) at the "Are you sure you want to install..."
  • Press A (yes) at the "Apply Sig Hash Check patch in IOS55?" (Trunca bug)
  • Press home to exit
  • In the Homebrew Channel, select "WAD-Manager_v1.5/bo"
  • Press A to continue at the disclaimer
  • Select "IOS249" and press A
  • Select "Disable" for the NAND emulator device and press A
  • Select "Wii SD Slot" for the source device and press A
  • Select "IOS60-patched.wad" and press A
    • Make sure action is set to "Install WAD" and press A
  • Once done, press any button to continue
  • Select "IOS70-patched.wad" and press A
    • Make sure action is set to "Install WAD" and press A
  • Once done, press any button to continue
  • Select "cIOS202[38+60].wad" and press A
    • Make sure action is set to "Install WAD" and press A
  • Once done, press any button to continue
  • Select "cIOS222[38].wad" and press A
    • Make sure action is set to "Install WAD" and press A
  • Once done, press any button to continue
  • Select "cIOS223[38+37].wad" and press A
    • Make sure action is set to "Install WAD" and press A
  • Once done, press any button to continue
  • Press B and then home to exit

  • Find the correct ini at the above link and create a hacks.ini on the root of the SD card (linux or dos format (lf or crlf) will both work now, in doubt use dos)
  • Select "/apps/Priiloader_v0_2/boot." and press A
  • Press + to install the Priiloader
  • Select "/apps/Priiloader v0.3 rev45/b" and press A
  • Press + to install the Priiloader
  • Once back at the Homebrew Channel, power off the wii
  • Wait a few seconds and power back on
  • Select "System Menu Hacks" and press A
  • Enable Block Disc Updates
  • Select "save settings" and press A
  • Press B to go back to the main menu
  • Select "Settings" and press A
  • Select "System Menu" for "Autoboot:"
  • Select "save settings" and press A
  • Press B to go back to the main menu
  • Select "Homebrew Channel" and pres A

Backup Launchers

Use the USB Loader for ripping and Neogamma for loading. Currently Neogamma doesn't rip. Neogamma can load both DVD-R and USB. USB Loader can only load USB, but it also rips.

  • In the Homebrew Channel, select "WAD-Manager_v1.5/bo"
  • Press A to continue at the disclaimer
  • Select "IOS249" and press A
  • Select "Disable" for the NAND emulator device and press A
  • Select "Wii SD Slot" for the source device and press A
  • Select "neogamma R8 b7.wad" and press A
    • Make sure action is set to "Install WAD" and press A
  • Once done, press any button to continue
  • Select "USB_Loader_GX_r*" and press A
    • Make sure action is set to "Install WAD" and press A
  • Once done, press any button to continue
  • Press B and then home to exit
